THE LAW FIRM OF LEWIS & THOMAS, P.C., NOME, ALASKA

Founded in 1974 the Law Firm of Lewis & Thomas, P.C. is the only private law firm located in Northwest Alaska. The firm's three attorneys practice primarily in Nome and Kotzebue, Alaska and the surrounding communities. However, the firm handles cases throughout Alaska.

The firm handles a general practice caseload, including but not limited to, plaintiff's personal injury, Alaska Native Corporation matters, domestic relations, wills and probate, criminal law, employment law and real estate matters. The firm's practice includes handling matters unique to rural Alaska such as air taxi accidents, disputes concerning sled dogs, bootlegging, commercial fishing, and mining law. The firm's attorneys have a combined fifty-four years of experience practicing law in Alaska. In addition a member of the firm serves on the State of Alaska Select Committee for Legislative Ethics, another serves as President of the Northwest Alaska Bar Association, and another serves as President of the Nome Kennel Club Board of Directors.

Because of the firm's long history in the region, LEWIS & THOMAS has associated as local counsel for law firms from across the state and the country. Members of the firm have assisted with investigations and jury selections, and have acted as lead and assistant counsel in litigations from around the state.

LEWIS & THOMAS is committed to the community of Nome, and the region. The firm regularly undertakes court appointments in both civil and criminal cases, as well as pro bono cases for the Alaska Legal Services Corporation, and local residents.
